Mobile application device runtime
The mDesign Client is a mobile device runtime system that interprets XML based definition documents created by mDesign Studio to deliver mobile applications. A device can run any number of mobile business applications and each application is specified by its own definition.

Rich Applications
Applications consist of a set of pages and questions. There are many different question types that can be used to make the process perform the required task. The answers to questions can vary from a simple yes/no to a complex annotated image or voice memo with a time and location stamp. Here are some of the question types that can be used:
- Image capture
- Sketch and Signature capture
- Voice recording
- Date pickers, combo boxes, grids, text boxes, check boxes, radio list etc.
- GPS location stamping
- Video Capture
- Barcode and RFID scanning
- Mobile printing support.
Each application guides the user through a sequence of screens to enable them to capture information, perform data lookups and searches and send and receive data from backend systems.
Logical Workflow
You can create an intelligent applications with logical, multistep workflow. Users can be directed to a specific page or set of questions within the application based on the answer to other questions. It is also possible to validate the data that a user has entered into the application to make sure accurate and consistent information is always gathered.
Applications available Online and Offline
The applications that you create can either work 'online' or 'offline'. This means that if you are not in an area which has no 3G, GPRS signal you can continue to use your mobile application. Once you are back in signal range you can submit any that has been collected using the application.
Once your application is ready it can easily be deployed to end users Over the Air (OTA) and if changes need to be made to your applications then this can also be done OTA without the need to return your devices to base.
Security
All communications between device and server are fully secured using AES 256 bit encryption which is FIPS 140-2 compliant.
