CommonTime recently exhibited at Service Management Expo, Europe's largest event for the field service industry. The event took place over two days; the 20th and 21st September, and with over 100 leading suppliers exhibiting their latest solutions, it was a great opportunity to reinforce our position within the service community, as well as building face to face contact with the leading industry figures.
SM Expo allowed CommonTime to showcase the full functionality of our complete enterprise mobility solution, mDesign. We were delighted with the response we received, and from speaking with a number of field service managers from several organisations, it’s clear that the ability to deliver fully integrated mobile applications on the latest devices is becoming a priority.
Some of the key requirements discussed included improving performance in the field, reducing costs, and cutting down the deployment time for mobile solutions . From speaking to many attendees, we found that the main processes organisations wanted to improve were asset documentation, tracking, scheduling and CRM.
We also received a lot of positive feedback about the cross platform capabilities of mDesign. One of the most interesting findings was the amount of people interested in mobilising field processes using modern devices such as the iPhone or Android tablets.
Solutions Theatre
Our CEO, Ian Knight, delivered an excellent presentation at the SM Expo Solutions Theatre, discussing modern devices, operating systems and mobile applications for the modern field worker. Ian discussed the changing environments in mobility and field working. He concluded that due to the growing number of field workers and the increased range business processes, effective cross platform delivery is essential in order to achieve a real return on investment .
iPad Giveaway
As well as all this, CommonTime also gave away an iPad 2 with our partners Psion and Barcode Warehouse. The lucky winner was Mr Steve Baugh of Emerson. Congratulations to Steve, and thank you to everyone who entered the competition.
Finally, we would like to say a big thank you to everyone who came to see us at this year's Service Management Expo. The event was a huge success, and we look forward to seeing you all next year.
