10-06-2010

Mobile working experts CommonTime have released a suite of applications designed to increase efficiency and productivity for police forces. Working closely with a number of UK Constabularies, CommonTime have developed a range of mobilised business processes using their application design environment, mDesign Studio.

CommonTime - Mobile working solutions for the policeThe applications mobilise typical police processes such as domestic abuse investigations to fixed penalty notices, stop and search, missing person reports, vehicle reports and road traffic collision recording amongst others. “In order to provide the best possible service, police forces must adopt new technologies that will improve efficiency and increase service levels.” CommonTime CEO Ian Knight comments “We can provide relevant mobile applications, device management tools and the highest levels of security to help ensure the police remain at the cutting edge.”

The development of CommonTime’s police applications comes soon after the release of their rapid application development tool, mDesign Studio. “We’ve utilised our own mDesign Studio solution to develop these applications.” Ian Knight continued “It is a powerful yet intuitive tool that allows anyone to create mobile applications based on complex business processes. It will allow police forces to use the business processes we’ve mapped as templates that can be customised and deployed to their officers very quickly, often realising savings of up to 70% of traditional development approaches. This is particularly relevant in the light of budget cuts which forces may be facing in the next 12-18 months.”
