5 Minute Walkthrough: Intelligent Paging for Emergencies

Intelligent Paging for Emergencies is designed to enable clinical and administrative staff to rapidly assemble trauma teams in response to any situation. We know that in high pressure environments, such as Accident and Emergency wards - cutting through the noise to deliver urgent alerts that require an immediate response is vital.

As highlighted by our product overview - Intelligent Paging for Emergencies delivers un-missable persistent notifications to on-call trauma teams using multi-modal workflows. Alerts include critical information such as severity, location and associated care pathway. These messages are able to control native device features such as volume and vibration settings, ensuring information is delivered regardless of status.

In this short 5-minute video, mobile consultant Tim Foulkes demonstrates how to create & send an alert from the administrative console, in addition to monitor responses and plan appropriate action based on a variety of scenarios.

A Simple, Intuitive Console

The Intelligent Paging for Emergencies console is designed to run on a desktop or laptop PC, connected to the same server as the mobile receiver applications. Upon loading the console, it's possible to see the status of users logged into the system - including the time at which they logged in and the role they have selected.

On the mobile device, it is possible to select which role a user is logging in as for this period. This is immediately reflected within the console.

In addition to users, it is possible to view both currently open and previously closed (completed) incidents. When creating a new incident, the operator can choose from a configurable number of options such as severity, priority, unit and pathway. Depending on the options chosen, the appropriate users will receive a message.

Messages are broadcast immediately to all relevant users, and display all vital information on the alert - including location, high level incident details and response options. In the console, it is possible to view which users, logged in as which roles, have received the alert. Color coding is used to indicate which users have received and responded to individual messages.

When not in use, the app displays the most recent previously received incidents and responses provided by that user. Therefore if a user receives multiple messages in quick succession, it is possible to review those that may have potentially been missed.

Decision Driven Reporting

Once an alert has been sent, updates can still be pushed to users - both those who have and have not responded. In particular, incidents can be upgraded or downgraded in severity, as well as closed. Updates will not be pushed to users who have marked that they are not able to attend.

Depending on the configuration of the deployment, it is possible to alert users to these changes with noise or vibration. Alertnatively, updates can be pushed silently.

The status of devices, as well as which have responded to alerts are updated in real-time, enabling console users to quickly make informed decisions about next steps. Users can call emergency and back-up staff in response to non-responders or declines - reducing response times and helping Trusts meet clinical targets.
